Spaghetti Pasta Bake vs. Turkey Fettuccine

Spaghetti Pasta Bake
Brown Rice Spaghetti Noodles
Tomato Sauce
Cottage Cheese
Mozzarella Cheese
Pizza Sauce
Ground Turkey
- Recipe -
Preheat oven
Boil water and cook the noodles
Blend cottage cheese in a blender
*makes it have an ideal consistency*
Cook ground turkey in a pan
Add tomato sauce to the cooked noodles and stir
Add in the blended cottage cheese and mix
Add to a square pan
Sprinkle a layer of mozzarella cheese over top
Cover with a light layer of pizza sauce
*makes the dish sweet*

  • Use ground turkey
    • Ground turkey is leaner and has more health benefits than ground beef. Experiment with any type of meat or make this dish vegetarian! 
  • Make your own sauce
    • Making your own sauce is much healthier than buying a canned, pre-made  sauce, and it's easy as well! 
  • Brown Rice Noodles
    • Brown rice noodles are a great alternative to your regular 'white' noodles, or even 'whole wheat' noodles, as the whole grain taste that kids(or adults) may be pesky about is hardly present. They are also full of health benefits! 

Turkey Fettuccine
On the lighter side:
Diced Turkey 
Noodles
Milk
Salt
Parmesan Cheese
Mozzarella Cheese
Flour
Herbs
- Recipe -
Boil water and cook the noodles
In medium saucepan, combine cheeses and milk
Stir until melted and combined, add flour
Add in your choice of herbs
Once noodles are cooked and drained, add to saucepan
Add in cooked, diced turkey

Pasta can be nurtition if you lay low on the sodium, but throw in vegetables and fruit to not only make a better taste, but a healthier dish. My sister loves a good pasta dish before a soccer game or tournament to keep her energy going for a long time. Why not try a new pasta dish for a big race?
